Tennis Masters facts




        • What: Tennis Masters Series Cincinnati, one of 13 “mandatory” events for top-ranked ATP Tour players
        • When: Main draw (64 players), through Sunday
        • Where: ATP Tennis Center, Mason
        • Prize money: $2.95 million
        • 2000 champion: Thomas Enqvist
        • Beneficiaries: The tournament has raised more than $4.6 million for Children's Hospital Medical Center since 1974. Last year's event raised $325,734. Since 1991, the Seniors event has raised more than $254,000 for Tennis For City Youth, a Cincinnati Recreation Commission program to help grass-roots tennis in the city. Last year's event raised $36,500.

        Special events
        • The Cincinnati Tennis Tournament Museum, in its third year, is open at the ATP Tennis Center from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. It was created in 1999 to commemorate the first 100 years of tournament tennis in the city.
        • The Match-It Contest booth gives fans a chance to pick winners and scores Monday through Friday. Daily prizes will be awarded with a grand prize at the end of the week.
