Clairol bid OK'd in Great Britain
Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble Co.'s proposed $4.95 billion acquisition of the Clairol hair-care unit from Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. was cleared by the United Kingdom's antitrust regulator after a longer-than-expected review.
The U.K. Office of Fair Trading said it completed its review, following a three-week extension announced last month. The purchase is still being reviewed by the U.S. Justice Department and regulators in a few other nations, P&G spokeswoman Maria Burquest said.
Comair adds two Florida cities
Comair Thursday said it would launch new weekend-only service to Fort Walton Beach and Panama City, Fla., beginning Oct.1.
Both flights will use the 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet. The new cities are the first to be added since Comair resumed operations July 2 following an 89-day strike.
Comair serves Pensacola on the Florida Panhandle from Cincinnati, and offers flights to several other Florida cities from its Orlando hub and city-to-city within the state.
Chemical safety meeting held
The St. Bernard and Winton Community Awareness and Emergency Response Group will speak at the Alliance for Chemical Safety meeting at 3 p.m. Wednesday at TechSolve, 1111 Edison Ave.

Manufacturers offer plant tour
Midwest Manufacturing Solutions will present a benchmarking plant tour from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 21 at the Long-Stanton Manufacturing plant near West Chester.
