UDF eliminating wait at gas pump
United Dairy Farmers will start using Speedpass technology at its Greater Cincinnati Mobil stations this fall, the company said Thursday.
The convenience-store chain, which cut a deal with Mobil to brand its gasoline stations last year, has been testing the technology and could use it in as many as 110 stores in Greater Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus.
Speedpass allows customers to wave a key fob at a designated part of the fuel pump to begin fueling, with the transaction recorded automatically onto a credit card.
There is no waiting at the pump for authorization.
Norwood-based UDF is expanding the Mobil stations in this area, adding about one new or remodeled location a month. Officials said there is plenty of room for more stores here.
