Boone Co. celebrates with flair

The pig scramble's over. The ATVs have raced.
Bring on the babies.

Today's highlight of the Boone County 4-H and Utopia Fair may well be the annual baby show, featuring Boone County youngsters from 6 months to 1 year old.
The boys show off at 3 p.m. and the girls at 4 p.m. in the pavilion at Boone County Fairgrounds.
If crying babies don't sound entertaining, perhaps the whining engines at the 4-H compact-tractor driving contest are more to your liking. They compete at 3 p.m. in the Lents Building.
The fair, Idlewild Road, Burlington, runs through Saturday. Rides open at 6 p.m. today and at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Admission (which includes all rides and entertainment) is $6 age 3 and over.
Kids age 2 and under get in free, but pay $1.50 per ride.
