PGA Seniors return this week




        Play doesn't begin until Friday, but activities surrounding the 12th annual Kroger Senior Classic begin Monday when the qualifying round is played at Beckett Ridge Country Club.

        There's also a Junior Pro-Am at 3:30 p.m. at the Golf Center at Kings Island. A couple of clinics are open to the public.

        The 54-hole, $1.5 million main event is Friday through Sunday. Hubert Green will defend his championship.

        Here's a schedule of events this week at the Golf Center at Kings Island and other venues:

        Monday

        • Qualifying round at Beckett Ridge

        • Breakfast with PGA Commissioner Tim Finchem, 8 a.m.

        • David Ledbetter clinic, driving range, 8:30 a.m.

        • Cadillac walking clinic, back nine, 9 a.m.

        • Dennis Walters Golf Show, driving range, 3 p.m.

        • Marty and Joe Junior Pro-Am, 3:30 p.m.

        Tuesday

        • Special pro-am at TPC at River's Bend, 7:30 a.m.

        • Tour wives Skins Game, back nine, 1 p.m.

        • Reds-Bengals Celebrity Challenge, back nine, 1:30 p.m.

        • Pro-Am pairings party, 6:30-8 p.m., Marriott Northeast

        Wednesday

        • Firstar Pro-Am, 8 a.m, 1:15 p.m.

        • Chipping Challenge, 2 p.m.

        Thursday

        • Firstar Pro-Am, 8 a.m., 1:15 p.m.

        • Super Seniors Pro-Am at Beckett Ridge, 9 a.m.

        Friday

        • First round, Kroger Senior Classic, 8 a.m.

        Saturday

        • Second round, Kroger Senior Classic, 8 a.m.

        • $10,000 Hole-In-One Challenge, all day

        Sunday

        • Final round, Kroger Senior Classic, 8:30 a.m.

        • Awards ceremony, 18th green
