Graduate makes semester dean's list

        Reid Schneeman was named to the spring semester dean's list of Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tenn., and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in marketing.

        The Walnut Hills High School graduate is the son of Susan and Larry Schneeman of Pleasant Ridge.

UC induction

               Cynthia Anne Goforth, the daughter of Cheryl and George Goforth of Mason, has been inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Society International Scholastic Order at the University of Cincinnati.

Students awarded

               The following students from Colerain High School received awards:

        Kristen Criswell was awarded a scholarship from Capital University in Columbus, to pursue a career in nursing; and Nicole Henke received an Award of Merit from the Greater Cincinnati Tech Prep Consortium.

        Both studied health occupations at Colerain Career Center.

Sergeant honored

               Sgt. James Bruce has been decorated with the Army Commendation Medal. The medal is awarded to individuals who demonstrate outstanding achievement or meritorious service in the performance of their duties on behalf of the Army.

        The Williamsburg High School graduate is the son of Patricia and Terry Bruce of Batavia.

Essay winners

               Students have earned scholarship money in an essay competition sponsored by the Cincinnati Chapter of CPCU, Insurance Women of Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky Association of Insurance Women, Cincinnati Insurance Board and the Northern Kentucky Independent Agents Association. The essays reflected what the students had learned about insurance as a result of their studies.

        Katie Kremer, a graduate of Bishop Brossart High School, was the first place winner with an award of $550. She plans to attend Raymond Walters College to major in dental hygiene.

        David Stipp, a graduate of St. Xavier High School, was a second place winner of $350. He plans to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana to major in electrical engineering.

        Camilla Hileman, a graduate of Mother of Mercy High School, was a third place winner of $250. She plans to major in biology at Miami University, Oxford.
