12-year-old rams car into house
COLERAIN TOWNSHIP A 12-year-old being taught to drive by his grandmother hit his grandparents' car and a neighbor's home Monday morning.
The Amelia boy was learning to drive a 1999 Saturn in the driveway of his grandparents' home, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department. With his grandmother sitting in the passenger seat of the car, he struck a parked Oldsmobile before ramming the house next door in the 2400 block of Roosevelt Avenue.
His grandmother, Christena Howlett, 56, was treated for minor injuries at the scene by the Colerain Township Fire Department. His 4-year-old sister was sitting in Ms. Howlett's lap and was also treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Police did not have a damage estimate for the home.
