LEBANON A local man has been indicted on three felony charges, accused of scuffling with and dragging a city police officer with his van during a traffic stop.
Lee B. Everitt, 54, was indicted on charges of aggravated robbery, assault and failure to comply with police. A Warren County grand jury handed up the charges Friday in the Aug. 26 incident, and they were made public Tuesday.
Warren County Prosecutor Tim Oliver said that after Mr. Everitt was stopped in Lebanon he got out of the van and approached the police cruiser. He and the officer struggled, and Mr. Everitt is accused of trying to get the officer's gun.
Mr. Everitt then allegedly got back in the van and pulled away, with the officer clinging to the side of the vehicle.
The officer jumped off after a short distance, Mr. Oliver said. He was not hurt.
Others charged
Other indictments included:
Larika Walker, 22, of Avondale was indicted on felony counts of theft and taking the identity of another. Mr. Oliver said Ms. Walker, while working at Paramount's Kings Island, obtained the credit card number of a park visitor and tried to charge $4,000 worth of merchandise.
The victim had used the credit card at her kiosk, Mr. Oliver said.
Rickie Cross, 26, of Middletown was indicted on three felony counts of forgery and a felony count of theft. Mr. Oliver said Mr. Cross in April obtained the victim's identity and used it to get a credit card, then ran up a $1,400 bill at a department store.
Valerie D. Nelson, 39, of Norwood was indicted on one count of felony theft. Prosecutors accuse her of stealing 15 checks from an elderly Mason lady for whom she worked and using them to spend $6,000.
