A former UC basketball player pleaded guilty Wednesday to a fourth degree misdemeanor charge of persistent disorderly conduct stemming from a May incident in a bar.

        Donald Little, 23, received three months probation, must attend anger management classes and must pay a $120 fine. The disorderly conduct charge was reduced from assault.

        “We haven't had a chance to assess the situation,” UC athletic director Bob Goin said. “There are a lot of factors to be taken in to account before any consideration takes place to reinstate Donald Little as a member of the basketball team.”

        Mr. Little also was arrested May 19 in Boone County on DUI charges but pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of reckless driving. He also pleaded guilty to having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle and not having his driver's license.

        He was dismissed from the basketball team later in May for conduct detrimental to the program.

        Mr. Goin had not ruled out the possibility of Mr. Little returning if he cleared up his legal problems.
