Congrats


Kramer graduates Miami cum laude

        Elizabeth Kramer graduated cum laude from Miami University in Oxford with a bachelor's degree in art. She has been awarded an assistantship to graduate school at Miami to continue her studies in art education.

        She is the daughter of David and Debra Kramer of Colerain Township.

On dean's list

               Freshman Devin Reilly of Blue Ash was named to the winter and spring quarter dean's lists at Ohio University.

        The St. Xavier High School graduate is majoring in sports industry.

Boy wins award

               Alex Beigh, a fifth-grader at LaValle School in Fairfield, was awarded the Presidential Gold Award for outstanding academics. He received an honor roll certificate and a certificate signed by President Bush.

        Alex was honored for earning straight A's the entire school year and scoring in the 99th percentile on the Iowa Tests. He is the son of Gail and Rob Beigh of Liberty Township.

Tipton honored

               Elaine Tipton has been named woman of the year by the Madeira Woman's Club. Since joining the club in 1992 she has held various offices including president for two terms.

        The award was given in recognition of Mrs. Tipton's work on the Operation Smile Project. A check has been forwarded to Operation Smile's national headquarters in her honor.

Makes dean's list

               Music education major Rob Hungler of Colerain Township was named to the spring semester dean's list at Bowling Green State University with a 4.0 grade-point average. He is also a member of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society.

        The graduate of Colerain High School is the son of Mary and stepson of Zindell Stephens of Colerain Township.

Scholarship won

               Archbishop Moeller High School graduate Eric Wellinghoff has received a Kelly School of Business scholarship for four years of tuition; room and board; books; and a year of study abroad at Indiana University in Bloomington.

        Eric, the son of Rita and Mark Wellinghoff of Kenwood, plans to major in marketing and communications.
