River Front Classic canceled
By Mike Bass
The Cincinnati Enquirer
The River Front Classic football game between Grambling and Florida A&M, scheduled for Saturday at Paul Brown Stadium, has been canceled.
On Thursday night, hours after saying the event would proceed as planned, Classic president John Pace decided it was best to follow the rest of the sports and city events. He saw that Oktoberfest and UC's football game had been canceled and talked to supporters within the community and university rep resentatives.
If the Classic is truly going to be part of the community, which it always has been, we have to look at what's going on around us, he said. We can't operate in a bubble.
The game probably won't be rescheduled this season, Pace said. All paid tickets will be refunded, according to a policy that will be announced in a matter of days, he said.
