READING — The city has a new theme to go with its push to attract new businesses.

        “Crossroads of Opportunity,” emphasizes Reading's location near downtown Cincinnati and proximity to major highways and other business and industrial centers.

        “Business prospects, considering Reading for possible relocation, like the ease and advantages of our central location,” said Jim Stewart of the Reading Chamber of Commerce.

        Mayor Earl Schmidt said the theme and the logo it's been incorporated into will serve as a rallying point for local political and business leaders.

        The mayor said that with General Electric just to the north, Paramount's Kings Island to the northeast, the office complexes of Blue Ash to the east and the industrial Mill Creek Valley to the west, his city's businesses and industries benefit from these surrounding communities.

        Linda Fitzgerald of LSR Consultants has been retained by Reading as an economic development consultant to work on the year-round marketing program.
