Now it's even more appropriate that we pray for our students and our schools, Mr. Booth said. We will also pray for healing and reconciliation in our city and for peace and resolution to conflict for our nation.
A choir from the school's Otto Armleder campus in Over-the-Rhine will sing. Local religious leaders will offer prayers.
In case of rain, the event will be held in council chambers.
Other students across the Tristate will sponsor their own prayer services at the flagpoles outside their schools this morning.
The national prayer event began with Texas students in 1990 and has spread nationwide.

She claims the officers barged into her apartment March 9, even though she repeatedly told them she was not related to the suspect Joe Watkins and did not know him.
The lawsuit claims police officers, with guns drawn, over-
turned furniture and went through her belongings while she and her two children watched.
Three days later, the lawsuit claims, different officers came to her home and repeated the search. Apparently, they were unaware the first group already had searched the apartment.
Ms. Watkins' lawsuit claims the searches violated her constitutional rights and caused emotional distress, humiliation and degradation.
