Ohio 32-Eight Mile intersection a hazard
QUESTION: Turning right off Eight Mile Road onto Ohio 32 in Anderson Township, many drivers immediately cross into the high speed lane. Their slower speed is a danger for eastbound vehicles already on Ohio 32. With cones or flexible plastic rods to keep motorists in one lane, eastbound motorists could choose either lane, but the vehicles turning right onto Ohio 32 would have to stay in the right lane. A second alternative is to force all traffic to turn right onto Ohio 32.
Todd Henderson
Anderson Township
ANSWER: Kim Patton, spokeswoman for the Ohio Department of Transportation, said ODOT will monitor the intersection to determineif any changes will be effective. Plastic cones or rodsare a maintenance issue because snow plows tear them out. A right turn only restriction would impede traffic on Ohio 32.

A. Cincinnati Traffic Engineer Steve Bailey said the city has notified the railroad, which plans repairs.
Q. Will the state consider a South I-71 directional sign on the Interstate 71 overpass above westbound Fields Ertel Road? The distance between Fields-Ertel, Mason-Montgomery Road and the ramp to south I-71 leaves little space to cross three lanes of traffic.
Susan Hughes
West Chester Township
A. An I-71 Keep Left sign has been added on the roadside, Mrs. Patton said.
