Luken: Put police academy in Bond Hill
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Cincinnati Mayor Charlie Luken proposed Thursday that the Cincinnati Police Division move its training academy to Swifton Commons in Bond Hill.
He said having police train in the former mall could help with security, and allow citizens to see police training firsthand, improving police-community relations.
The mayor said the previous plan to move the training academy to Spinney Field, the Bengals' former practice facility in Lower Price Hill should be scrapped.
Mr. Luken said his idea still needs to be checked by the Safety Department, and he would seek approval of neighborhood groups.
