Some Good News


Eateries join relief efforts

        If you want to eat for a good cause, try Dine For America, a restaurant benefit being conducted today across the Tristate.

        It is a way to raise millions for victims of the Sept. 11 attacks.

        Restaurants are making pledges and collecting donations for the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Customers can participate by dining at a Dine For America restaurant or by making a donation at the restaurant to the Red Cross.

        Some of the participating restaurants in the Tristate are:

        • Chili's Grill & Bar, 11329 Montgomery Rd., Symmes Township, 469-9888; 100 percent of profits that day.

        • La Salsa Fresh Mexican Grills, 3880 Paxton Road, Hyde Park, 321-4440; 4752 Fields-Ertel Road, Kings Mall, 677-0300; 5036 Glen Crossing Way, Westwood, 451-0200-all donating $1 per burrito/platter sold, collecting guest and employee donations.

        • Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon, 8080 Montgomery Road, Kenwood, 984-0707; 100 percent of sales that day.

        • LongHorn Steakhouses, 853 Eastgate North Drive, Eastgate, 947-8882; 2692 Madison Road, Hyde Park, 351-4040; 713 Vine St., Downtown, 421-9696, all donating 100 percent of profit that day and matching employee donations.

        • O'Charley's, 4531 Eastgate Blvd., Eastgate, 753-6266; 5262 Fields-Ertel Road, Deerfield Township, 469-0022; 5075 Crookshank Road, Westwood, all donating 100 percent of profits that day.

        • Outback Steakhouses, 11790 Springfield Pike, Springdale, 671-8200; 8240 Montgomery Road, Kenwood, 793-5566; 7731 Five Mile Road, Anderson Township, 624-8181; 9880 Colerain Ave., Bevis, 245-0900; 6168 Glenway Ave., Westwood, 662-4900. All donating 100 percent of sales that day.

        • Palomino, 505 Vine St., Fountain Place, Downtown, 381-1300; all proceeds that day.

        • Red Lobster USA Restaurants, 631 Northland Blvd., Forest Park, 825-1406; 3564 Springdale Road, Springdale, 385-8151; 8220 Montgomery Road, Kenwood, 984-2740; 616 Ohio Pike., Withamsville, 752-3167; 6186 Glenway Ave., Westwood, 661-6319; all donating 100 percent of profits that day.

        • Rock Bottom, 10 Fountain Square, Downtown, 621-1588, will donate a portion of proceeds to Red Cross.

        • The Olive Garden Italian Restaurants, 9654 Colerain Ave., Northgate, 385-6300; 475 Ohio Pike.,Beechmont, 528-4075 and 4900 Fields-Ertel Road, Symmes Township, 677-4922, all donating 100 percent of profits to the Red Cross.
