Anderson 39, Mount St. Joseph 21
Alex Gill returned the opening kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown, and Joel Steele passed for four touchdowns to lead Anderson to a 39-21 victory over Mount St. Joseph on Saturday.
Steele was 14-of-22 for 278 yards for Anderson (5-1, 3-0 Heartland Conference). Joe Piening was 22-of-37 for 295 yards for Mount St. Joseph (0-7, 0-3).
Gill scored on a 9-yard pass from Steele, and Todd McKinney scored on passes of 5, 97 and 29 yards. Mike Baker scored on 30-yard return of a blocked punt.
Brandon Elliott (Purcell Marian) scored for Mount St. Joseph on passes of 55 and 57 yards from Piening, and Tom Miller scored on a 4-yard pass from Brett Pogozalski (Fairfield).
