Girls cross country roundup
Turpin crowds finish line
Turpin easily captured the FAVC Buckeye division championship, with all seven of the Spartans runners finishing in the top eight.
Carolyn Rauen won the race in 19:23 with Jaclyn Louis finishing second in 19:40. Jenny Homan of Anderson broke in at third place with a time of 19:48.
In the Cardinal Division, Kings outdueled Loveland, winning 24-47. The Knights placed six runners in the top 10. Kristin Laogh of Loveland won the race in 21:09 with teammate Elizabeth Raines finishing in second with a 22:16.
Kings was led by Kellie McClung with a time of 21:26 for second place and Kristyn Allen in fourth place with a 22:29.
In the Southern Buckeye Conference, junior Leah Schlater of Hillsboro took home her second league title in three years with a time of 20:55. Thom Snyder was coach of the year as the girls team won the league for the sixth straight season.
After winning the last three years, Mercy took runner-up to Seton in the Girls Greather Cincinnati League meet in the Scarlet Division. Karen Berling led Seton, winning the race in 19:33. In the Gray Division McNicholas beat out Badin for the team crown.
