Congrats
Miami sophomore studies in France
Amy Storer, a sophomore mass communications major at Miami University, studied French in Dijon, France, this summer. She also received the Fluor Scholarship and the Cincinnati Chapter of Ohio Credit Union League Scholarship for the second consecutive year.
The Harrison High School graduate is the daughter of Barbara and Gary Storer of Harrison.
Fulbright award
Katherine Duane was awarded a Fulbright Student Award to study in Germany this academic year. She plans to work in the Institute for Neurobiology at Freie University in Berlin.
The graduate of Ursuline Academy and Xavier University was the first Xavier student to receive this award. She was a member of the dual B.S./M.D. program with Xavier and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in biology with a premed concentration.
Ms. Duane, of West Chester Township, plans to pursue a clinical and research career in pediatric neurosurgery.
Honors graduate
Nicholas Cook graduated magna cum laude with a double major and double minor in the Business Adminis tration-University Scholar Honors Program at Xavier University. He was also the recipient of the VanKirk Family Scholarship, the Robert G. Kluener Scholarship, and the Dean's Award for Scholar Athlete.
Mr. Cook is the son of Nancy and Jeff Cook of Springfield Township.
Scholarships
The Madeira Woman's Club awarded scholarships to the following Madeira residents:
Madeira High School graduate Kimberly King, the daughter of Pam and Mark King. She attends the University of Cincinnati, studying interior design.
Lindsey Hufford, also a Madeira High School graduate, the daughter of Faye and Tom Hufford. She attends Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Ky., majoring in elementary education with a minor in French.
June Kenner Reilley received the scholarship for continuing adult education for the third year. She is a junior at Northern Kentucky University, pursuing a bachelor's degree in education with a minor in journalism/photography.
