Boys soccer highlights




        McNicholas scored two first-half goals to beat Roger Bacon 2-0 in a Division II sectional game. Justin Fey and Adam Hamilton scored for the Rockets, who will play Kings at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Amelia.

        Joe DiSalvio set aside four shots for his sixth shutout of the season.

        Colerain 4, La Salle 3, Division I Sectional — Colerain scored three straight goals by Seth Byers, David Lies, and Tony Cullum in the second half to come from behind. Colerain avenged its only regular-season loss. La Salle beat the Cardinals 1-0 in the second game of the season.

        CHCA 3, Cincinnati Christian 1, Division III Sectional — Greg Amend scored on a header off a corner kick by Alex Compton to break a 1-1 halftime tie. D.J. Pohl added an insurance goal late in the game.

        Purcell Marian 2, Finneytown 1, 2 SO, Division II Sectional — The Cavaliers needed two overtime periods and then two shootout periods to oust Finneytown from the tournament.

        Finneytown tied Purcell in the first shootout 3-3, but Purcell pulled out a 5-4 edge in the second round of the shootout.

        Matt Soldano, Casey Ryan, Daniel Sanchez, Zack Holt, and Randdy Randy David each scored in the second shootout. Purcell advances to play Wyoming.
