BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Raffi Torres, a first-round pick of the New York Islanders in 2000, scored the go-ahead goal in the third period and Marko Tuomainen added a pair of assists as the Bridgeport Sound Tigers held on to defeat the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, 3-2, Saturday in the AHL.
Dusan Salficky stopped 32-of-34 shots for the Sound Tigers, while Dave Roche and Juraj Kulnik scored Bridgeport's other two goals.
Dwayne Zinger and Andy McDonald scored for Cincinnati, which dropped its fifth in a row.
Good teams find a way to win, Ducks coach Mike Babcock said. We're finding a way to lose.
Ilja Bryzgalov, a second-round pick of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in 2000, surrendered three goals on 33 shots in the loss. The Ducks went 0-for-4 on the power play and are 1-for-36 with the man-advantage this season. Cincinnati completes a three-game road trip Wednesday at Grand Rapids.
