Pratt & Whitney takes show on road
The future of two warplanes the U.S. F-22 Raptor and the international Joint Strike Fighter was on display Monday and again today at two Greater Cincinnati suppliers to engine builder Pratt & Whitney.
The unit of United Technologies Corp. put together a mobile touring exhibit about the importance of the two fighter programs.
The exhibit, housed in a 75-foot trailer with surround-sound video, visited Sermatech-Lehr in Blue Ash Monday. It will stop at CTL Aerospace in West Chester today.
Sermatech is exclusive supplier of integral bladed rotors on the engines for the F-22 Raptor, which begins deployment next year. Sermatech is also bidding to be a supplier for the JSF, successor to the Air Force's F-16 and F-15 fighters.
Evendale-based GE Aircraft Engines is developing an alternative to the Pratt F119 for production models of the JSF.
