New Gattle's wrapped up in luxury
Montgomery location has beautiful linens, furniture and even parking
By Joy Kraft

The best thing about the new Gattle's location in Montgomery is not the airy store with walls of paprika, sea foam, peach and soft pink arranged to let you wander from room to room, fingering fine French sheets and quilts.

And it's not the hand-milled soaps, the Oscar de la Renta dressing gowns, the whimsical furniture by MacKenzie Childs or the infant corner with hand-painted furniture that can be custom-ordered.
The best thing about the linen master's new spot is ... the parking.
There are 12 spaces, steps from the door, marked just for Gattle's shoppers and many more in the parking lot a hop and a skip away. The spaces are a luxury for anyone who's ever circled the Michigan Avenue block looking for a parking space in Hyde Park, where the store was landlocked in tight spaces for 37 years.
The new store looks twice as big as the former location, owner Barbara Cheney says. But it's really not that much bigger than our Hyde Park location in square feet (about 4,500). It's the layout that makes the difference.
The stars of the store are the luxurious bed and table linens by Yves Delorme of Paris; the clever creations of MacKenzie Childs, including chairs, ottomans, glassware and dinnerware, and the hand-painted accessories by Gracey Knight crowning the infant corner.
