Promotions & new on the job
Lawrence E. Wood has been appointed director of Middletown Economic Development Corp. Mr. Wood joined the company in December as interim director. He will be responsible for attracting business investment that generates primary employment positions, and for keeping and expanding existing business investment. He earned a bachelor's degree from Miami University.

Michael Young has been named manager at J.D. Cloud & Co. L.L.P. Mr. Young works primarily with privately held companies in industries such as manufacturing and construction, providing audit and tax services, as well as consulting on accounting issues including internal systems and processes.

Stuart A. Fabe has joined Compass Group Inc. as executive vice president for fund development. Mr. Fabe has more than 25 years of fund-raising experience.
Marc Campolongo has been named director of financial operations at the Hamilton County Alcohol & Drug Addiction Services Board.
Ray Vasudevan has been named engineering fellow for International Paper, in the materials technology group at Cincinnati Technology Center. Mr. Vasudevan has been with the company for 16 years. He holds a doctorate in metallurgy and materials science from Lehigh University.
Cathy L. Walsh has been named program manager for the Sportsmetrics program at Cincinnati Sportsmedicine Research and Education Foundation.
Richard O. Hamilton Jr. and Brian A. Lee have joined the law firm of Benjamin, Yocum & Heather LLC as associates. Mr. Hamilton is a member of the firm's construction law department. Mr. Lee is a member of the firm's insurance and litigation departments.
Dr. Thomas Boat, chairman of the department of pediatrics and director of the Children's Hospital Research Foundation, has been appointed to membership in the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Boat will serve a five-year term.
Anne L. Gehring has been appointed vice president and director of business planning and analysis at Fifth Third Bank. Ms. Gehring joined Fifth Third in April and is responsible for financial planning and reporting. She worked at GE Capital as vice president of finance for its financial service businesses in the United States, Europe and Asia. She holds a bachelor's degree from Miami University.
Bill Sizemore has been named district sales manager at Western-Southern Life, and Scott Daley, Mike Jackson and James Hill have been named sales managers. Manika Tolbert has joined the company as sales representative.
Paul Owens has joined BHDP Architecture as intern architect for the workplace team.
Marleen L. Burns has joined Hospice of Northern Kentucky as director. Ms. Burns succeeds Tom Bennett, who remains with the organization as chaplain and business liaison.
Holly Hosie has joined the staff at RB Khatru Salon Sanctuary at 7691 Beechmont Ave., Anderson Township.
Mary Lou Calvert has joined Sibcy Cline Realtors as residential real estate specialist, Florence office.
Libby McKoon has been named director of development and public relations of the Greater Cincinnati Oral Health Council, a charter member of the United Way. Ms. McKoon will be responsible for a new fund-raising and public relations strategy. She graduated from Northern Kentucky University with degrees in media and communications.

ler LLP as a partner in the litigation group, and Rodney L. Drinnon and Jeff VanWay have joined the law firm as associates in the litigation, and employment and labor, groups.
Eileen Hartlage has joined SS&G Financial Services as an associate, accounting and auditing in Cincinnati, and Lynn Kerns as operations coordinator, investment services.
Saundra N. Fried, attorney at Peck, Shaffer & Williams, has been appointed as a nongovernmental board trustee of the Ohio Government Finance Officers Association.
Shawn McDowell has joined Huntington Banks as vice president/commercial sales executive, and Julie Belton has been named vice president. Ms. Belton is a portfolio manager for the Southwest commercial banking division.
Harry J. Fath has been named executive vice president of the board for the Cincinnati Opera, and Stephen Rabinowitz vice president of the board. Appointed new members of the board of trustees are: Robert W. Boden, Terry Crilley, Dr. Ronald A. Crutcher, Dr. Christopher D. Hassall, Dr. Frank McWilliams, John A. Mongelluzzo, Jack Osborn, Susan Robinson and Larry A. Sheakley. New members appointed to the advisory board are John T. Lawrence III and Dr. Timothy E. Johnson.
