Luken's lead over Fuller growing, according to poll

Charlie Luken has widened his lead over Courtis Fuller in the race for Cincinnati mayor, according to the latest SurveyUSA poll for WCPO-TV (Channel 9).
Mr. Luken leads Mr. Fuller, 56 percent to 39 percent. Last week, Mr. Luken was ahead by 8 percentage points.
Mr. Luken ran strongest among whites (74 percent) and Republicans (73 percent). Mr. Fuller showed strongest support among blacks (76 percent).
The poll also found that Issue 5, the Cincinnati civil-service reform charter amendment, is essentially even, with 49 percent in favor and 47 percent opposed. Support for the issue has been dropping, according to the poll.
SurveyUSA questioned 500 likely Cincinnati voters on Monday and Tuesday. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.
