Some Good News

Vets' families get certificates

map
A local company has designed certificates for families of veterans who lost their lives in the Sept. 11 attack on the World Trade Center.

Freedman, Gibson & White, a marketing communications firm in the West End, designed the certificates. They were presented last weekend by the Disabled American Veterans to each of the 128 spouses of the veterans.

“We are printing additional certificates to be presented to 20 families of firefighters who were still in training and lost their lives. They were due to graduate with their class this week,” said Susan McDonald, information officer for the firm.

The certificates show a color photo of a folded American flag being presented by a military officer to a family. It has emblems of the five branches of the military service; Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard.
