Kevin Nugent scored an unassisted goal with 1:17 to play to advance Centerville to the Division I boys soccer state semifinals with a 2-1 victory over St.Xavier Saturday at Hopewell Elementary.

        St. Xavier scored first, two minutes into the game, on a goal by Kevin Gruesser off a pass from Dan Perica.

        Centerville tied it up just 16 minutes later on a goal by Michael Baughn. Centerville advances to play the Westerville North-Thomas Worthington winner on Tuesday at Troy Stadium.

        • Springfield Catholic Central 2, Madeira 0, Division III regional final at Centerville — Springfield Catholic Central broke a 0-0 halftime score with a goal by Matt Calabrese 58 seconds into the second half.

        D.J. Catrow added a goal with nine minutes to play, and Adam Maloney set aside three shots for the shutout.

        Springfield Catholic advances to the final four for the first time since 1988 and has won 11 games in a row.
