Three get $1,000
NEWPORT Fifth Third Bank and the Newport Aquarium have awarded $1,000 savings bonds to three children in an essay contest on the topic Sharks Swift, Strong and Oh-So Misunderstood.
The winners are: Skyler Gist, a second-grader at Graham South Elementary School in St. Paris, Ohio; Eric Kaiser, a fifth-grader at Mercy Montessori School in Westwood; and Stephanie Dziczek, a senior at Holmes High School in Covington.
NKU award applications
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS - Northern Kentucky University is accepting applications for the 11th annual Lincoln Award honoring Greater Cincinnatians who have had a positive influence in their community until Jan. 15.
Nominations should consist of a one-page letter accompanied by a resume and other supporting documents.
