Congrats
Foundation awards scholarships
The Butler County Medical Society has created a new foundation to promote scientific and educational projects and to provide scholarships to medical students in Butler County. The foundation, funded through donations, granted scholarships to the following students:
West Chester Township resident Jena Khera, a senior at the Medical College of Ohio at Toledo; and Hamilton resident Christopher Savage, a sophomore at Wright State University of Medicine in Dayton.
Toastmaster cited
Wayne Baughman of Westwood was presented the Toastmasters International Presidential Citation for his enthusiasm, positive attitude and active support of the organization at the group's international convention.
The award recognizes members' contributions that have helped maintain the organization's reputation as a world leader in communication and leadership training.
Makes dean's list
Patrick Corbus of Mount Lookout was named to the spring semester dean's list at the University of Colorado at Boulder, establishing himself among the top students in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Basic training
The following privates have graduated from basic military training at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo.:
Joseph Isgro, a graduate of Anderson High School and son of Jeanne Kimble of Fairfield and Russ Isgro of Anderson Township; Talmadge Zipperer, the stepson of Tom Bauer of Cherry Grove; Charles Luken, graduate of Sycamore High School and son of Deborah Luken of Montgomery; Bri an Reynolds, graduate of Glen Este High School and son of Teresa and David Reynolds of Union Township; and Bessie Beck, the daughter of Jacque and Ed Beck of Anderson Township.
Degree earned
Eric Rozier received a master's degree in educational administration from the University of Cincinnati. He had also earned a master's degree in elementary education from Xavier University. He is a teacher at Gamble Elementary School in Westwood.
The St. Xavier High School graduate is the son of Mary and Alvin Rozier of Finneytown.
