Fairview Heights man shot to death in store
By William A. Weathers
The Cincinnati Enquirer
A 21-year-old Fairview Heights man was shot to death inside an English Woods grocery store Sunday afternoon.
Police charged Nathaniel Richardson, 45, of 1999 Sutter Ave. with murder. Homicide unit Sgt. Lisa Thomas said the shooting was unrelated to the business, and that the victim was just doing some shopping.
We don't have a motive for what occurred, Sgt. Thomas said.
The shooting occurred about 5:40 p.m inside the English Woods food market at 1980 Sutter Ave. One other customer and two employees were in the store at the time but were not injured, Sgt. Thomas said.
Mr. Richardson was taken into custody in a nearby apartment building, and some weapons were recovered, Sgt. Thomas said.
Orville Lewis, 30, of Clifton said his younger brother, Kenneth, was killed inside the store.
We got a call that he was shot in the head, Mr. Lewis said. The call came from his brother's girlfriend who was inside the store when the shooting occurred, he said.
They (police officers) brought her out of the store crying, Mr. Lewis said.
Kenneth Lewis attended Aiken High School and worked part time as a maintenance employee at an Over-the-Rhine gas station, Mr. Lewis said. He lived with his girlfriend and was the father of three children, Mr. Lewis said.
