Lebanon service to honor fallen heroes, donation efforts
The Cincinnati Enquirer
LEBANON A memorial service will be held Thursday evening to honor the fallen heroes of the Sept. 11 tragedy and honor the citizens who participated in the city's recent donation drive to support New York rescue workers.
The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Lebanon Fire Department, 20 W. Silver St.
The city's donation drive raised $25,000 in combined goods and money which were delivered to New York Oct. 2. The city was placed on a list for further assistance and has been called on to assist in the purchase of winter gear for rescue workers as they continue the recovery effort.
The city is also planning to offer help to 28 children who lost their fathers from Engine 54/Ladder 4 in midtown Manhattan.
