Camacho wins Belterra bout

VEVAY, Ind. — Top-ranked Hector Camacho (33-0) kept his super lightweight title hopes intact Sunday with a technical knockout of Eric Jakubowski, but second-ranked David Reid had his super middleweight run derailed by Sam Hill of St. Louis.

Camacho, the World Boxing Association's top-ranked fighter, dominated his bout with journeyman boxer Jakubowski (21-9) of Whiting, Ind., in a 10-round, non-title bout at the Belterra Casino on the Ohio River.

In the other featured bout, Hill (14-2-1), 31, a St. Louis police officer, scored a TKO of Reid 39 seconds into the ninth round of their 10-round, non-title fight.

Reid (17-2), the former WBA Super Welterweight champion, was aiming for a bout with undisputed middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins. He was ranked second by the WBA.
