Miami earns NCAA women's soccer berth
The Miami RedHawks defeated Central Michigan 3-1 at Athens, Ohio, Sunday for their second consecutive Mid-American Conference women's soccer tournament championship and berth in the NCAA Tournament.
MU's first-round opponent will be announced at 3 p.m. today.
Earlier, junior Andrea Cunningham (McAuley), two-time conference leading scorer and MAC career points leader, was named MAC Player of the Year. She was joined on the all-MAC first team by junior Daneille Berkemeier (Fairfield) and sophmore Danielle Altiero.
Junior Shaedyn Cousino (Indian Hill) and junior transfer goalkeeper Katie Karlander were named to the second team.
