Bobbie Sterne: Herself a World War II veteran as well as Cincinnati's first female mayor and former city councilwoman shares her thoughts on “Women and War” as well as the library's new Veterans Memorial when she delivers the keynote address at the Main Public Library's Annual Veteran's Day Program. 10:45 a.m. today,800 Vine St., downtown. 369-6900.

Staying in

TV picks: Things aren't heavenly on 7th Heaven when Mary (Jessica Biel) unexpectedly moves back home instead of getting married (8 p.m., Channel 64).

        • TV Critic John Kiesewetter also says VH1 airs the Best of Arsenio Hall Jams, performance clips from the 1989-94 talk show, this week (11 p.m.-midnight, 11 p.m.-midnight, VH1).

What's in Video picks

Wish things like this weren't necessary, but in light of recent events, people want it. The Anti-Terror Checklist (ReganBooks, $5.99) lists favorite terrorist tools and proper responses. Or at least safest responses. Written by New York City private investigator and former cop Bill Stanton, it's a sort of literary security blanket. It's at the bookstores.

Planning Ahead

24 hours out: The long-running, ever-so-revered Matinee Musicale series bellies up with baritone Leon Williams and a program of Debussy, Copland and Poulenc. 11 a.m. Tuesday, Scottish Rite Auditorium, 317 E. Fifth St., downtown, $2-$15. 871-4327.

48 hours out: Bar Humbug in Covington hosts an international beer tasting 8 p.m. Wednesday — hic — with 15 beers from England, Scotland, Germany, Sweden and more. 6 W. Pike St. $10, Reservations: (859) 491-1333.

72 hours 'til Thursday: The Wilmington College Theater Departmentopens three days of Frank Wildhorn's gritty musical The Civil War. 8 p.m., Boyd Auditorium, Wilmington, $5-$10. (937) 382-6661, Ext. 267.
