Building Ohio: A Traveler's Guide to Urban Ohio by Jane Ware (Orange Frazer Press; $22). Billed by its publisher as the first architectural guide ever for Ohio, this paperback takes in hundreds of buildings from courthouses, skyscrapers and museums to houses, churches and barns. The Christmas Box Miracle: My Spiritual Journey of Destiny, Healing and Hope by Richard Paul Evans (Simon & Schuster; $17.95). In 1994, Mr. Evans self-published a small Christmas story in paperback, The Christmas Box, that soon became a word-of-mouth sensation. It was the story of how a widow taught a young married man the true meaning of the holidays.
