Miami held to 42 points in loss


RedHawks shoot 27 percent vs. UNC-Wilmington

        WILMINGTON, N.C. — Brett Blizzard had 23 points and Craig Callahan added 12 to lead North Carolina-Wilmington to a 50-42 win over Miami on Saturday night.

        Danny Horace led Miami (0-1) with 11 points and 14 rebounds, but hit only 5-of-17 field goal attempts. Doug Davis had nine points, hitting just 4-of-17 shots before fouling out with 35 seconds left. The RedHawks shot just 27 percent, going 17-for-63 from the field and 4-for-14 from 3-point range.

        The Seahawks (1-1) hit on only 15-of-44 shots (34 percent), but had a 13-point advantage at the foul line. They made 17-of-25 free throws, to just 4-of-9 for Miami.

        Miami had a 50-34 rebounding edge.
