Norse volleyballers knocked out of tourney

        KIRKSVILLE, Mo. — Betsy Moore (McAuley High) scored two first-half goals Saturday as Northern Kentucky defeated Truman State 2-0 in the NCAA Division II women's soccer quarterfinals.

        The Norse earned their third consecutive trip to the Final Four. The site will be announced in a few days.

        Moore gave the Norse (22-1) a 1-0 lead six minutes into the match. Jeanna Martin (Seton) assisted. Moore added her second goal at 17:41.

        • The Norse volleyball team had its 24-match winning streak snapped by Grand Valley State in the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region Tournament semifinals at Allendale, Mich. GVS won 19-30, 30-24, 30-25 and 30-21.
