OSU QB rejoins team but won't start
The Associated Press
COLUMBUS Ohio State quarterback Steve Bellisari, suspended indefinitely after he was charged with drunken driving last week, will practice with the team but not start Saturday against rival Michigan, the school said early today. Backup Craig Krenzel will start at Michigan..
It will be up to coach Jim Tressel to decide whether Bellisari will play against Michigan.
In a statement issued by the school, Tressel said Bellisari will not serve as one of the team captains for the Michigan game.
Steve is and will continue to be a member of the Ohio State football family, Tressel said. We will make sure that immediate support services are available to him to assist him in confronting this painful situation.
Tressel said he made the decision Sunday night after meeting with OSU Athletics Director Andy Geiger, associate AD Archie Griffin, the football coaching staff, the team and Bellisari.
