UC women advance with upset of ND

The Cincinnati Bearcats women's soccer team upset No.6-ranked Notre Dame 3-2 Sunday at South Bend, Ind., in the second round of the NCAA Women's College Cup. UC advances to the Sweet 16 against Virginia, which defeated William & Mary 4-1.
Sophomore Rachel Lieberman (Walnut Hills), with two goals, and senior Amy Simonson (Princeton) scored for UC (20-3), which won its 13th in a row and snapped Notre Dame's 39-match home unbeaten streak.
At Morgantown, W.Va., Megan McKnight (Badin), with a goal and an assist, led Dayton (17-5) past the Miami RedHawks 2-0 and a spot in the Sweet 16 against UCLA (19-2). Miami finished 15-7-1.
