Mobley leads NKU women to 5-0

        HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. — Amy Mobley scored 14 of her 16 points in the first half Saturday to lead Northern Kentucky University to a 78-45 win over Salem (W.Va.) International University in Regents Hall.

        Mobley (Harrison High) also collected seven rebounds as NKU improved to 5-0. The Norse built a 39-19 halftime lead by limiting Salem International (0-3) to 26.9 percent shooting from the field.

        Bridget Flanagan (Mercy) scored 17 points for NKU, and Michelle Cottrell (Boone County) added 11 points. Cottrell now has 1,812 career points and needs 72 to become NKU's all-time scoring leader.

        NKU, which will play host to Kentucky Wesleyan at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, has won 28 consecutive home games.

Rachel Miller scored 22 points on 10-of-19 shooting and grabbed 14 rebounds for Anderson.

        Mount St. Joe (3-4, 0-2 HCAC) shot just 28 percent in the first half and trailed 24-19 at halftime. The Lions were led by Christina Brown's 16 points. Virginia Grace added 12 points and 12 rebounds.

The Saints fell to 1-4 with the home loss.

        Kyle Booth led TMC with 20 points and nine rebounds, and Dustin Mulberry added 15 points.

        But Manchester had three players score in double figures: Alan Mayes (17), Chris Enyeart 15 and Julian Guess (13).

Anderson, paced by Derek Ricketts' 17 points, put four players in double figures and forced MSJ (0-5, 0-2 HCAC) into 19 turnovers.

        Jarett Young led the Lions with 14 points, including three 3-pointers.
