Restaurant files for Chapter 11

The owner of Burbank's Real Bar-B-Que in Sharonville has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Dining Concept Inc. filed the petition late Monday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Cincinnati.

Jim Whitaker, DCI's president since August, said the filing “will give us a breathing spell, during which DCI will continue to operate while we formulate a plan to repay DCI's creditors.”

Mr. Whitaker confirmed that local radio personality Gary Burbank, a DCI shareholder who originated the Memphis-style cuisine served at the restaurant that bears his name, was not involved in its decision to file bankruptcy.

Comair announces changes at the top

Erlanger-based regional airline Comair on Tuesday announced a shuffling of its executive ranks, with two vice presidents retiring, four officials being promoted to vice president and another vice president changing jobs.

        • David Soaper, formerly the airline's director of system control, has been promoted to vice president/safety, security and system operations.

        • Tim Zeis, formerly the director of customer services planning/development is now vice president of customer service, overseeing all customer service areas outside of Cincinnati.

        • Former director of inflight services Ralph Lee is now vice president/inflight services.

        • Don Bornhorst, formerly a vice president at Delta Connection Inc., is now Comair's senior vice president/customers, overseeing inflight and all customer service and marketing.

Retiring are vice president of marketing Chuck Curran, who will leave after his tenure ends as the interim president of the Greater Cincinnati Convention and Visitors Bureau, and vice president of customer services Linda Landers.

Ken Marshall, former vice president/inflight services and corporate safety, will now be the vice president of vendor operations at Delta AirElite Business Jets, the recently renamed charter jet management division of Comair.
