        COLUMBIA, Mo. — Clarence Gilbert scored 18 of his 29 points in the first half and No.2 Missouri hit a school-record 17 3-pointers in a 117-67 victory over Southern University on Thursday night.

        Kareem Rush added 25 points, and Missouri shot 9-for-17 on 3-pointers in the first half, 17-for-30 overall, as the Tigers beat a Southwestern Athletic Conference team for the third time in four games, scoring at least 100 points in all three victories.

        After hitting just one 3-pointer against Saint Louis on Monday — Missouri's worst performance from beyond the arc under coach Quin Snyder — the Tigers shot 9-for-17 from 3-point range in the first half and 17-for-30 (57 percent) overall. against the Jaguars.

        MUNCIE, Ind. — Theron Smith scored 29 points and set a Worthen Arena record with 21 rebounds to lead No. 15 Ball State (5-1) to a 113-89 victory over Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne on Thursday night.

        Smith picked up his third consecutive double-double as Ball State broke the previous scoring mark of 111, set against Lynn on Nov.28, 1994.

        Braswell, in foul trouble most of the game, had tied the score at 68 with a free throw with 47.7 seconds left. He finished with 13 points on 6-for-9 shooting.         INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Dan Dickau scored 20 of his 29 points in the second half, and Zach Gourde had a career-high 22 points as Gonzaga beat Fresno State.

        Gourde also had 12 rebounds to equal a career high, and Cory Violette had 15 points and a career-high 20 rebounds as Gonzaga won its fourth straight and ended Fresno State's five-game winning streak.

        A 3-point shot by Alex Hernandez and baskets by Violette and Dickau gave Gonzaga (7-2) a 70-67 lead with 7:49 remaining, and the Zags were on top the rest of the way.

        Sophomore guard Ryan Sidney fractured his jaw during practice Thursday.

        Sydney, whose jaw was wired shut, leads No.13 Boston College (6-0) in scoring (21.3 points per game), rebounding (10.0), assists (5.7) and steals (2.8).

        His status is uncertain for Saturday night against UMass.
