Westwood fighting zone move

Westwood citizen concerns over a zone change request for 3156 Glenmore Avenue will be addressed at a public hearing by the neighborhoods and public works committee meeting on Tuesday.
The meeting, originally set for Nov. 27, was delayed by the applicant and committee to gather more information, said senior planner Ed Mangold.
The 11-acre site is zoned for use by hospitals and universities. The developer, Glenmore Partners, LLC., is seeking a change to develop a senior's campus, which would allow for multifamily units.
A grass-roots group plans to present the committee with a petition signed by 320 residents, asking council to deny the zone change because it cannot limit rental to seniors.
People are just opposed to more apartments in Westwood, said Westwood resident Hank Wagner, who helped collect signatures.
Mr. Mangold said that there are safeguards that would make it difficult to switch the use to commercial rental.
The hearing is at 1 p.m., in Cincinnati council chambers at City Hall, 801 Plum Street.
