Cintas executives to open Nasdaq
Robert J. Kohlhepp, Cintas Corp. chairman and chief executive officer, and Scott D. Farmer, president and chief operating officer, will preside over the opening of the Nasdaq Stock Market at 9:30 a.m. today in New York City.
The Mason-based uniform supplier has been a member of the Nasdaq since 1983 and has assembled a string of 32 consecutive years of higher sales and earnings. Cintas was picked because of its success over the years, Nasdaq said.
Northlich to design anti-smoking drive
Cincinnati-based Northlich will design and conduct an anti-smoking marketing campaign for the Ohio Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Foundation. The $50 million, four-year campaign is the first use of billions of dollars from the settlement between a group of states and tobacco companies several years ago.
Ohio has the third-highest adult smoking rate in the country, and 65,000 Ohio children become new smokers every year, the foundation said.
The campaign should start in January, officials said.
Cincinnati Bell begins new service
Bad weather and last-minute schedule changes can cause havoc for sports teams, schools and other groups. Now, Cincinnati Bell is offering a telephone solution with a new product called Team Line, a dedicated local telephone number where group members can simultaneously call and obtain information updates.
Using a password, a group leader or coach records a voice message, which the group can access at any time by dialing the Team Line number. Cost is $4.95 a month for residential customers and $9.95 for businesses.
P&G CFO named to Nucor board
Nucor Corp. has named Clayton Daley, chief financial officer at Procter & Gamble Co., to its board of directors. The Charlotte-based maker of steel products cited Mr. Daley's experience in mergers and acquisitions, and marketing. Mr. Daley has been at Cincinnati-based P&G for 27 years and been CFO for three years.
