Tennessee man faces Warren Co. civil suit
LEBANON A Tennessee businessman awaiting trial on charges that he posed as a police officer and pulled over a young woman to coerce her for sex now faces a Warren County civil suit.
Karli J. Sizemore of Germantown sued Mark Mixner of Knoxville last week, claiming that the alleged incident caused severe mental and emotional anguish and psychological injury, as well as pain and suffering. Ms. Sizemore has asked for compensatory and punitive damages in excess of $25,000.
The criminal case against Mr. Mixner is on hold while prosecutors appeal a judge's ruling that the police stop of Mr. Mixner's car was unconstitutional. The Ohio 12th District Court of Ap peals has yet to decide the case.
Springboro police said Mr. Mixner, 38, a father of two who was in town on business, followed Ms. Sizemore from a West Carrollton nightclub and used flashing red and blue lights to pull her over Dec. 6, 2000, on Ohio 741 in Springboro.
Ms. Sizemore, 20, said Mr. Mixner told her he was working with an undercover police detail looking for drunken drivers.
She said Mr. Mixner asked her for oral sex and other sexual favors. When she declined and began crying, he allowed her to leave, she said.
Mr. Mixner remains free on a $10,000 cash bond.
