A Hamilton County grand jury has indicted a Mount Auburn chiropractor on 23 counts of fraud, accusing him of filing false insurance claims.
Dr. Manoucher Yaghmaee is also accused of double-billing insurance companies and the Ohio Bureau of Worker's Compensation.
The 55-year-old chiropractor owns and operates the Pain and Injury Clinic at 53 E. Hollister St.
He is charged with 13 felony counts of insurance fraud, nine counts of worker's compensation fraud, and one misdemeanor count of insurance fraud.
Hamilton County Prosecutor Mike Allen said Dr. Yaghmaee would solicit accident victims to treat at his clinic.
He is charged with billing insurance companies for visits to his clinic that never occurred and/or for treatments never received, he said.
The indictment was the culmination of a 10-month investigation led by the Pharmaceutical Diversion unit of the Cincinnati Police Division. If convicted, Dr. Yaghmaee could face up to 22 1/2 years in prison.
