Kansas uses 2nd-half spurt to beat Princeton

        PRINCETON, N.J. — Nick Collison scored 11 of his 19 points in the first 10 minutes of the second half and No.4 Kansas pulled away for a 78-62 victory over Princeton on Wednesday night.

        It was the Tigers' third loss in three games against Top Ten teams.

        The Jayhawks (7-1) led just 35-29 at halftime, but Collison ended the Tigers' upset thoughts in the second half as he scored six points in the Jayhawks' 10-0 run. Persia hit two 3-pointers to make it 45-34, but Collison had a three-point play on a dunk after a steal as Kansas used a 9-0 run to take a 58-37 lead with 9:33 to play.

        The Tigers never got closer than 15 points the rest of the way. Will Venable led Princeton with 11 points.

        IOWA CITY, Iowa — Luke Recker scored a season-high 24 points, and the Hawkeyes broke open the game with a 28-5 run.

        Reggie Evans added 19 points and 10 rebounds for Iowa (8-3), which shot 62.5 percent in building a 25-point halftime lead and beat Drake (4-3) for the 23rd straight time.

        Drake shot 36 percent, and leading scorer Luke McDonald, averaging 19.5 points, was held to nine.

        The 42-point margin of victory was the biggest in the series, which dates to 1909.

        Recker, who had been shooting just 39 percent this season, finished at 69 percent (9-for-13) against Drake.

        COLUMBUS — Brian Brown scored 15 points and Boban Savovic had 12 points as the Buckeyes (6-0) gave the Broncos (1-5) their worst-ever loss. OSU set a school record with 30 3-point field goal attempts and tied the school mark by making 13 3-pointers.

        Jordan Legge and Jason Morrissette each scored nine points for Santa Clara.
