SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP Bank Robbery 101: If you're going to rob a bank, make sure there's money in it.
Two bandits learned that Friday morning. The masked men walked into the Kenwood Savings Bank office in the 8400 block of Winton Road, thinking it was a bank branch.
It's a mortgage office with lots of paper but no money.
When they got in and realized there was no money there, they must have thought. "What are we gonna do now?' said Springfield Township Police Lt. David Schaefer.
The pair, armed with a handgun, robbed a female office employee of a small amount of cash and fled, Lt. Schaefer said. There were no injuries.
The two black men fled in a dark green Dodge Dynasty.
Anyone with information should call Springfield Township police at 729-1300.
