MASON Swimmers will pay a little more for daily admission and season passes at the city's only municipal pool in 2002.
City Council recently approved increases of 50 cents for daily passes and $4 for season passes at Lou Eves Municipal Pool in Corwin M. Nixon Park, which opens Memorial Day.
Pool attendance dropped to about 86,000 in 2001 from about 101,000 in 2000.
Starting next year, a season pass for an adult will cost $63 (up from $59); a child, senior or disabled person pass will pay $38 (up from $36), and family passes will cost $112 (up from $106). Daily admission for adults will rise to $4.50 (up from $4), and a child, senior or disabled person will pay $3.50 (up from $3). Guest passes will increase from $16 to $21.
Council also established rates for the new community center, which will open January 2003. An annual adult pass will cost $275; a youth or senior pass will be $160, and family passes will cost $375.
Daily pool admission costs will be $7 for adults and $5 for youths and seniors.
