Teacher put on leave until he resigns in March

OXFORD A Talawanda High School teacher and assistant football coach accused of using a school computer to download inappropriate material has been put on sick leave until his March 5 resignation.
The resignation agreement was approved by the Talawanda Board of Education this week.
An investigation of art teacher Brandon McFadden, 52, began last month after Principal Dan Milz received information that Mr. McFadden might have been accessing inappropriate Internet sites from the computer at his desk during the school day, Superintendent Phil Cagwin said.
Mr. Cagwin declined to discuss specifics of the investigation or downloaded material except to say the Southwest Ohio Computer Association was able to provide the district with an extensive list of Web sites visited by Mr. McFadden over a 30-day period from mid-October to mid-November. Some of those sites, Mr. Cagwin said, should not have been accessed in a school setting.
I feel it's inappropriate to discuss a confidential, personnel matter in public, Mr. Cagwin said.
On Nov. 28, Mr. Cagwin put Mr. McFadden on paid administrative leave and barred him from school property or from attending school events. He has not been in the classroom since then.
Mr. McFadden, a teacher since 1988, could not be reached for comment.
On Monday, the board accepted Mr. McFadden's resignation.
